Choose from differently themed camps in Drawing or Painting, beading, Book Binding & Illustrating, and soft sculpture.
All Classes are:
~ Wednesday-Friday, 12:30 - 3:30pm

Old Fashioned Teddy Bears

Medium: Soft Sculpture in faux fur
Date: June 7-9

Create your own 1-of-a kind, teddy bear from scratch. Learn about fur nap, proper cutting, and construction.  Practice different sewing techniques, and hand embroider the nose and mouth of your new friend.  You choose your fur, eyes, and special secret message in your bear’s heart, to create the perfect personality for your treasured bear.

Expressive drawing in Charcoal

Become confident in all the fundamental techniques of charcoal drawing.  Sample a variety of subject matter, and choose your desired subject to focus on for the majority of the class.  See how fast, dramatic, subtle and forgiving the medium of charcoal can be.

Painting in Acrylics session 1

Medium: Acrylics on canvas
Date: June 21-23
Ages 11-17

Learn all about painting with acrylics.  Our focus will be on color blending, and applying the paint in layers for optimal vibrancy. We will pay special attention to mixing the ideal consistencies of the paint for each layer, blending techniques and effective brush strokes. I will have images available as visual references, and students are encouraged to bring in a good colored photograph to work from.

Beading
Medium: Beads, wire

Come and bead your heart out!  Discover the joy and relaxation of beading.  You will learn how to bead with wire to create 2-D and 3-D animals, critters and flowers.  You will even learn how to design your own beaded creations.  Turn your creations into jewelry or keychains, or leave them as fun little sculptures.

 Realistic Drawing in Graphite

Painting in Acrylics session 2

Medium: Graphite on paper

Take your pencil drawing to a new level of realism. Learn drawing techniques to ensure proportional accuracy, placement and achieving a likeness of your subject matter.  Learn ways of handling your pencil to render beautiful illusions of volume, depth and texture.

Once Upon A Story Book

Medium: Book binding and illustrating in watercolor and ink 
Date: July 19-21 & 26-28 (6 sessions, 2 consecutive weeks)
Ages 9-17

​Write and illustrate, then bind your very own book.
Learn all about making a hardcover book from start to finish including the decoratively designed paper on the cover.  Learn how to organize your pages and sew “signatures” together.  Illustrate your book in ink and watercolor, first sketching with pencil, then “inking” the design.
