Beginner Drawing FundamentalsIn part 1, Drawing Fundamentals, you will learn new ways to break down your subject matter to cultivate correct proportions, line weight, and a likeness. You will draw simple designs while learning several advanced mental drawing tools. Learn how seeing things the way an artist sees them makes it easier to draw.

Beginner Drawing, Block-InsIn part 2, Block-ins, you will build on the concepts previously learned, practicing the process with all manner of subject matter. Become comfortable with a systematic approach, so starting a drawing becomes fun, not scary.

Beginner Drawing, ConstructionIn part 3, Construction, you will learn to see past the confusing detail, and identify simple ways of seeing and creating 3-D form, foreshortening, and symmetry. Learn how to look at an image and be able to change the position or action of the subject.

Beginner Drawing, ShadingIn part 4, Shading, learn how to use shading to create the illusion of form and depth. You will learn how to draw shapes with a single expressive stroke, and create visual textures of different objects.

Supply list:
- Paper 8.5 x 11 or larger, sketchbook or copy paper is fine.
- Pencil, I like paper-mate mechanical #2.
- Erasers: White plastic and Kneaded
- Stiff board to be used as a drawing board, a piece of foam core is fine, larger than your paper.
- Artists’ tape
- Straight edge (ruler, triangle or matte board)
