This painting was primarily inspired by a painting by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. The model is a combination of Jane and Lizzy, the two favorite models of the pre-Raphaelite brotherhood. The instrument was borrowed from a Vermeer painting, and the other elements were invented. This is my tribute to one of my favorite groups of painters and their muses.
